Is the “second generation handheld laser welder” perfect? Neither. The too fine light spot makes it require high matching accuracy of welding products. After all, it is used for manual welding, and parts of many manufacturers do not have high matching clearance. For example, when welding 1 mm of material, if the weld at the welding position is greater than 0.2 mm, welding defects will occur.
In order to overcome the shortcomings of the “second generation handheld laser welding machine”, which requires too much for weld processing, the “third generation handheld laser welding machine” came out at the end of 2018.
The “third generation handheld laser welding machine” can also be called “swing handheld laser welding machine”. The word “swing” is added in front of the second generation, which means that its main feature is that the welding spot is high frequency swing, so that the original 0.2 mm welding spot can be adjusted to 6 mm, so that products with large weld can be welded. In addition, Chuangheng Laser has also introduced more powerful equipment. Now there are 1000 W and 1500 W hand-held swing welding machines, which are a little smaller than the second generation, and the price is still falling.
As soon as it was put on the market in 2019, it quickly became popular. After the power is increased, the maximum penetration can reach 3 mm, and the spot diameter can reach 6 mm, which can basically meet the requirements of welding materials below 4 mm. It not only maintains the original characteristics of high welding efficiency, beautiful weld appearance, no deformation, no need for a lot of grinding and low energy consumption, but also can realize the welding of dissimilar materials, such as stainless steel, carbon steel, galvanized steel, aluminum and titanium mutual welding (copper can also be welded, but not practical). Because of the addition of the swing function, the metal solution of two different materials can be fully fused through stirring to obtain a high-strength welding effect. It is not only used in advertising, mold repair, stainless steel bathroom, floor drain industry, but also used in sheet metal cabinet, electric cabinet, stainless steel doors and windows, wardrobe furniture and other industries. No complex fixture is required, and only simple positioning is required to weld high-quality products.
