The development of handheld laser welding — the first generation of handheld laser welding machine
As we all know, laser has the characteristics of “good monochromaticity, high directionality, high coherence and high brightness”. Laser welding is also a process that uses the light emitted by the laser to focus the laser beam after optical processing, and generates a beam of huge energy to irradiate the welding part of the material to be welded, so that it can melt and form a permanent connection. Let’s discuss its specific advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages of the first generation hand-held laser welding machine:
1. The light spot is fine and adjustable between 0.6-2mm.
2. It is not easy to deform due to small heat.
3. Less polishing and polishing in the later stage.
4. It will not produce a large amount of waste smoke.
Disadvantages of the first generation of hand-held laser welding machine:
1. The price and cost are relatively high. At that time, a device also cost about 100000 yuan.
2. Large volume and high energy consumption. The volume is about two cubic meters, and if the energy consumption is calculated according to the use power of 200 W, the power consumption is about 6 degrees per hour
3. The welding depth is shallow and the welding strength is not very high. When the welding power is 200 W and the light spot is 0.6 mm, the penetration depth is about 0.3 mm.
Therefore, the first generation of hand-held laser welding machine just fills the shortcomings of argon arc welding, and is more suitable for thin plate materials and products with low welding strength requirements. The welding appearance is beautiful and easy to polish. It is widely used in advertising welding, abrasive repair and other industries. However, its high price, high energy consumption and huge volume still hinder its widespread promotion and application.
So is it that this device will no longer be available? Obviously not.
Please look forward to the next issue~
